About:
Mississippi Boulevard Christian Church, lovingly known as “The BLVD”, is the first African American church in the city of Memphis under the doctrine of the Disciples of Christ (DOC). With a congregation of approximately 4000, its mission is to Lead others to Christ, Learn to be like Christ, Live for Christ, and Love as Christ without Limits in the Greater Memphis Area; through transformative worship, engaging fellowship, impactful ministry, consistent discipleship, and broad evangelism. One of the church’s main outreach ministries is Manna Outreach. The purpose of Manna Outreach is to nurture and share the love of God by feeding the physical and spiritual needs of individuals in the Memphis community. Through partnerships and collaborations with local, community-based organizations, this year Manna Outreach has provided meals to over 8000 households.
The BLVD is looking for a responsible and experienced Warehouse Coordinator to provide daily supervision to the Manna warehouse staff and operational functions which include selecting, loading, receiving and replenishment of warehouse goods. This position is also responsible for the administrative coordination and operation of the Mobile Pantry Distribution, School Backpack Program, and other food insecurity initiatives from Manna Outreach.

Schedule: 8-hour shift
Working Hours: Must be able to work flexible hours depending on warehouse/pantry schedule. Some Saturdays required (1st, 2nd, 3rd).
Education: High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience:
- Warehouse supervisor experience: 1 year (Required)
- warehouse or logistics: 3 years (Required)
License/Certification: Tennessee Driver’s License (Required)
Essential Functions:
Pantry Operations-
- Supervise the daily activities of staff/volunteers in the fulfilment of customer orders and the proper execution of all quality, safety, and sanitation practices of warehouse/pantry operations.
- Maintain a clean, properly stocked, well organized and professional warehouse/pantry. environment that follows all BLVD, Mid-South Food Bank (MSFB), local, state, and federal rules, regulations, and inspection requirements.
- Verify proper storage and rotation of products based on code dating. Ensure First In/First Out (FIFO) compliance.
- Document and maintain daily temperature control records on all refrigeration.
- Ensure products are handled properly to minimize damage and preserve quality.
- Ensure sufficient personnel are available to handle daily workload.
- Ensure that weekly food bank orders are submitted in a timely manner.
- Coordinate orders and pick-ups from the MSFB and other food sources to ensure availability of goods. Coordinate Mobile Pantry and Student Backpack programs.
Compliance, Record Keeping and Reporting-
- Coordinate activities of distribution warehouse/pantry with record control and purchasing to assure availability of goods. Document processes and procedures.
- Ensure clients meet consistent, non-discriminatory, and appropriate eligibility requirements. Maintain confidential client applications and eligibility forms.
- Submit USDA, MSFB, and other monthly reports in a timely manner.
- Maintain appropriate inventory reports that show on-hand and in-out quantities.
- Ensure food is distributed in accordance with USDA, MSFB and other regulatory guidelines.
- Maintain electronic record-keeping systems.
Management and Innovation-
- Manage and stay within the financial budget allocated for Manna Outreach.
- Implement processes and procedures that support the vision, values, and goals of The BLVD.
- Work with manager to implement innovative programs which help to address food insecurity in Shelby County.
- Reports to and communicates with manager on employee and facility related concerns.
- Respond in a timely manner to requests for information from manager.
Donor/Vendor/Community Relations-
- Serve as a key liaison with MSFB, Partners, Sponsors, Vendors, Donors, Volunteers, Schools and Clients. Maintain good working relationships and dialogue. Prepare Thank You notes when appropriate.
- Assess client satisfaction and effectiveness, at least annually.
- Seek new partnerships, sponsorships and donors that will allow Manna Outreach to effectively address food insecurity in Shelby County.
- Attend annual MSFB and other partner and/or governmental agency training to keep abreast of new resources, regulations and/or funding.
- In conjunction with Manager, prepare grant proposals for funding that will allow Manna to expand outreach efforts.
- Plan and coordinate church and community food drives.
- Speak to various groups to create awareness of the need to address food insecurity in Shelby County.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or related field
- Must have a valid Tennessee driver’s license and ability to provide motor vehicle report as proof of insurability.
- 1-2 years of supervisory experience
- 3 years of warehouse or logistics experience preferred
- Knowledge of warehouse and food safety regulations
- Computer operating skills that include demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Offices applications (Word, Excel, Access)
- Proficient with data entry and maintaining volunteer/client database and inventory software and systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient mathematical skills including logical reasoning ability
- Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations of people.
- Experience with Donor or Community Relations preferred.
- Ability to remain flexible and thrive in a fast-paced dynamic work environment
Physical Requirements:
- Prolong periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Ability to lift a maximum of 40 lbs.
