About the Company:

The procurement arm of a large African trading company. As a result of increasing successes, the London office is seeking to expand its Shipping Department.

The Role:

  • Placing and managing orders of machinery, spare parts, and consumables, and ensuring timely delivery through international shipments mainly to Nigeria, but also across several African destinations.
  • Handling shipping documents for airfreight and sea freight such as AWBs, B/Ls, Letters of Credit and Certificates of Origin.
  • Communicating with shipping lines and freight forwarding companies as well as chasing suppliers for goods.
  • Distribute and report information throughout the company to ensure all parts of the business are kept up to date.
  • Maintain accurate stock positions, check invoices, and control all export documentation.

Requirements:

  • Experience of export shipping with a full understanding of shipping documents, letters of credit, INCOTERMS, UCP etc.
  • You will be numerate and have excellent administration and IT skills.
  • Good attention to detail and the ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Ideally experience in international trade.
