• Writing Skills: 3 years (Preferred)
• Creative writing: 3 years (Preferred)
• Language: English (Preferred)

The Role:

Are you opinionated? We are looking for someone to join our staff at The Narrative and create thought-provoking and forward-thinking quick pieces on today’s leading technological advancements. These quick pieces are meant to encourage virality, provoke and/or challenge our community and beyond, and provide new insight on the issues of our time. Do you have ideas around technology that need to be heard? Can you challenge community, nation, and world with your ideas? If so, we need you.

Ideal candidate:

• You are reliable.
• You keep a close eye on your inbox and jump on assignments faster than we can throw them at you.
• You write polished prose that requires very minimal copy editing.
• You are very adaptable and can write in a variety of voices for different audiences.
• You know how to write in a breezy, light, easy-to-digest yet sophisticated voice.
• You want your stuff to be read by millions of people.
• You can express yourself with memes and other images.
• You write eye-catching headlines without resorting to clickbait.
• You live online and speak social media.
• You caught the mistake in this sentence.
• You can learn new platforms with ease

Pay/Essay:

Staff Writer can expect an average of 3-4 essays per month. Each essay will vary in word count ranging from 300-500 words. Each word will be around $0.10. The pay will be dependent on word count within each essay completed.
