Description:
We are currently seeking a Special Education teacher for the 2020-2021 school year an EXCITING opportunity Short Workload case for a special education teacher to develop a site-based program for students with moderate-severe disabilities. The teacher will work with secondary special education students through a variety of models: resource room, co-teaching, and inclusion. In addition, the teacher will be responsible for the paraprofessional support of students.
Qualifications:
- Special Education the license in one or more disability areas: DCD and ASD preferred.
- Thorough knowledge and application of the principles and methodology of effective instruction of students with disabilities
- Thorough knowledge of due process requirements and application
- Considerable knowledge about evaluation
- Knowledge of secondary transition evaluation and programming
- Ability to effectively lead team meetings and parent meetings
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
