Looking for a Security Director

Job Summary:
Working closely with the Headquarters Global Security Team; the position holder will be the key focal person for security management for FHI 360 in South Sudan and will be responsible for threat, vulnerability and risk assessments, security analysis, security networking, security management, and supervising a Juba-based Security Manager and two field-based Security Coordinators.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop appropriate relationships which will foster the establishment of a security-risk related information gathering network
- Develop a set of policies and procedures that include minimum security guidelines, security protocols and safety guidelines
- Work closely with the COP and security contacts to ensure adherence to the security standards, which will be monitored and reviewed regularly and updated, as necessary
- Develop and manage journey management program for all aspects of project implementation
- Will provide ongoing advice and guidance in relation to such things as establishing curfews where needed
- S/he will liaise with subcontracted security companies to ensure smooth and timely provision of guard forces, personal security details etc. as required
- Conduct a baseline threat, risk, and vulnerability assessment for each FHI 360 South Sudan program and/or update, as necessary
- Develop and update as Safety and Security Contingency Plan (SSCP) which will include evacuation plans
- Ensure adequate dissemination and training on the SSCP to FHI 360 South Sudan staff, visiting staff, consultants, and partners
- Conduct office and residential security surveys and recommend physical security measures for FHI owned and managed property
- Coordinate emergency preparedness trainings including evacuation, first aid and firefighting trainings to both international and national staff
- Hold security meetings to provide an avenue for staff to voice security related concerns
- Record and report immediately, all significant threats to staff and security and all security and safety incidents to the national, zonal, and state offices
- Perform other relevant duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Attributes:
- Demonstrated ability working on complex activities simultaneously
- Ability to supervise, maintain confidentiality and use sound judgment on sensitive matters
- Ability to develop effective work plans and priorities to meet business objectives
- Demonstrated expertise in building effective relationship with key stakeholders
- Good report writing and documentation skills
- Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
- Ability to manage tight deadlines and deliver high volumes of work with minimal or no supervision
- Ability to travel on a regular basis (up to 30%).
Qualifications and Requirements:
BS/BA in International relations/affairs, International politics, Political science, Risk and prevention and other job-related field with 7 to 9 years’ experience in risk and security management or other closely related area or MS/MA in International relations/affairs, International politics, Political science, Risk and prevention and other job-related field with 5 to 7 years’ experience in risk and security management or other closely related area.
