Education: Secondary School (preferred)
Experience: Reptile: 1 year (preferred)
Responsibilities:
The Reptile Care position supports the daily care and maintenance of African fat tails, knob tails, and Rhacodactylus species.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Meet and exceed cleanliness standards of animals
- Lots of cleaning! And we mean it. The cleanliness and health of our animals is top priority. 80% of this position is cleaning at an industrial sink, or cleaning enclosures within the animal rooms.
- Daily feeding and general husbandry duties
- Meet and maintain department productivity standards
- Developing a well-rounded understanding of the care needs of Rhacodactylus species, skinks, fat tail geckos and more
Skills, Abilities & Expertise:
- Demonstrated capable organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Strong self-management, e.g., time management skills, task initiative
- Exemplary attendance and punctuality
- Reliability and maturity
- Knowledge of Rhacodactylus, Australian geckos and skink husbandry and care
