We invite applicants for a 3-year, full time postdoctoral fellowship. The successful individual(s) will be based in Cape Town or Pretoria.

Description:

The SAMRC is playing a leading role in the development and implementation of a wastewater-based Early Warning System (EWS) for COVID-19 in various parts of the country (for project information please visit: www.samrc/wbe). The successful candidate will be involved in key aspects of this project including coordinating technical operations of the project according to study protocol and liaising with relevant provincial and district authorities, fieldworkers, facility managers, project manager and study PI.

Discipline Details:

  • The postdoctoral fellow will fall under the discipline of Environmental or Public Health
  • Value and Period of the Award
  • The value of the award is R350 000 per annum (this amount is taxable)
  • The period of the award is 3 years.

Requirements:

  • A PhD completed within the last 5 years (or completion date of doctoral studies by 31 March 2021)
  • South African citizens
  • Experience in water related projects, particularly wastewater
