About the Kensington Soccer Club:

The Kensington Soccer Club (KSC) is a non-traditional soccer organization, combining aspects of traditional soccer clubs with broad-based community betterment and youth development initiatives. We annually serve more than 1,500 Philadelphia youth ages 3-19, with an emphasis on Kensington and the surrounding communities. Most of our players are Hispanic and African American; the vast majority are low-income. KSC brings soccer to children and families who are new to the sport, using techniques that encourage educational achievement, conflict resolution, community-building, leadership, and healthy lifestyles.

KSC is a grassroots community organization that started as an all-volunteer operation and has now grown to where we need experienced, paid staff to manage our finances. This position will work to improve our existing systems and then manage all day-to-day financial work of the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Enter time sensitive accounting data into QuickBooks online including deposits and withdrawals, generate invoices, run reports and other miscellaneous activities
  • Track grant expenses and generate grant expense reports
  • Manage weekly organizational payroll
  • Work with board Treasurer and finance committee to improve financial and payroll systems
  • Meet bi-weekly with Administrative Assistant and Executive Director
  • Assist with annual tax reports and other annual report requirements
  • Assist in budget preparation.

Qualifications:

  • Computer skills: proficiency with Microsoft, Google, and QuickBooks Online.
  • Flexible and a self-starter, able to multitask while also being highly detail-oriented with minimal direct supervision.
  • Experience setting up bookkeeping and payroll systems.
  • Education – High School Diploma or GED equivalent, some college coursework, primarily in the accounting field preferred.
  • Working knowledge of general ledger, cost center, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
  • Proven high level of organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to plan and think critically.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
