Wales Bonner is looking for an experienced and hands-on Management Accountant that can keep well on top of the ‘day-to-day’, whilst also implementing process improvements and supporting the senior management team by providing strategic insights.
Responsibilities:
This role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, reports directly to the Operations Director, and will also involve working directly with the Founder. We are looking for someone who can take ownership of the day-to-day finance function and support the leadership team as we enter a period of growth.
As the first full time hire in the finance team, the role encompasses a wide range of both transactional and reporting duties. The core responsibilities of the role are:
Transactional-
- Managing the purchase ledger and suppliers
- Managing the sales ledger and credit control
- Maintaining the accounting records (incl. Bank Reconciliations)
- Preparing weekly payment runs and supporting the production team with Ad Hoc payments as required
Reporting-
- Preparing weekly flash reports
- Cashflow
- Payable/Receivables
- Company KPIs
- Preparing monthly management accounts for the business
- Lead the annual budgeting process and monitor and report on performance through the year
- Assisting the leadership team with scenario planning and forecasting
- Liaising with our external accountants to prepare payroll submissions, VAT returns, annual accounts, corporation tax returns
- Statutory & Tax
- Liaising with our external accountants to prepare payroll submissions, pension filings, VAT returns, annual accounts, corporation tax returns
Requirements:
The Non-Negotiables-
- 3+ years relevant experience (industry or practice)
- Experience producing management reports
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel & XERO
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Confident in producing ad-hoc financial reports
- Have completed or be working towards a qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or AAT)
