Description:
The Kayak Program Leaders will plan and deliver two, 3-day Kayak camps, at Aylesford Lake beach.
Leaders will be responsible for instructing the participants (aged 8-13) on basic kayaking skills, stroke development, and basic boating safety and be responsible for the safety of the participants, and interact with parents and recreation staff.
Leaders will also be responsible for the public Kayak loan program, which includes:
- Providing access for public to rent Kayaks during the days Aylesford Lake Beach signing kayaks in and out
- Providing kayaking support for individuals wishing to have a leader on the water during their rental.
- The ideal candidates will be in a Recreation or Community Development program with administration and programming experience. However, applicants with equivalent training & experience will also be considered.
- Previous Kayaking, Camp Supervision, or Lifeguard Certification are considered as assets.
- We are looking for an enthusiastic, organized, and motivated self-starter.
- Flat Water Kayak Certification training will be provided to all Leaders.
