About the role:

We are looking for a dynamic, energetic, and target driven International Sales and Recruitment Manager to drive student recruitment from the Francophone, East and Southern Africa region into our Pathways Colleges and University partners across the UK and USA. Reporting directly to the Regional Manager, you will have a strong understanding of international recruitment within the education sector and you will be able to demonstrate an awareness of at least one major overseas market. You will have excellent organisational skills and will be a self-starter with experience of working internationally.

Your key responsibilities will involve:

  • Driving student opportunities to achieve challenging targets for the UK and the US products in line with compliance requirements
  • Working closely with students and converting student opportunities from new leads to deposits paid (confirmed), including responding to all enquiries within 24 hours and providing an outstanding level of customer service
  • Promoting KI on an on-going basis to generate new leads in market by working with established and new stakeholders via exhibitions, seminars, and other recruitment events
  • Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, including helping create regional strategies.
  • Liaising effectively across the Kaplan internal network with partner universities and with key recruitment agents and educational bodies overseas.
  • Presenting to a range of audiences, including potential students and their parents, staff in schools, agents, and partners
  • Ensuring all partner agents are given comprehensive training and have full and complete knowledge of all KI products and selling points
  • Evaluating recruitment and marketing activities in the region and work within budgetary requirements.
  • Delivering outstanding levels of customer service
  • Travelling across your respective region for up to 20 weeks per year.
  • Any other activities as determined by the Regional Manager.

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Achievement of set market targets across products and multiple destinations.
  • Development of the US recruitment in the region.
  • Maintenance of high level of service to all stakeholders.
  • Conversion rates from application to enrolment for students coming from all channels.

Skills & Experience:

  • Background in or passion for international education sales.
  • University education.
  • Fluency in English
  • Highly developed interpersonal, negotiation, presentation, and communication skills, across a wide range of audiences
  • Demonstrated team player with a “can do” attitude to overcoming obstacles
  • Goal-driven and results oriented profile
  • Ability to prioritise and plan work effectively under tight deadlines, under pressure and with competing priorities
  • The ability to identify and manage risk and knowing when to escalate areas of risk where applicable
  • Ability to learn independently and to master and apply new knowledge and skills quickly
  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadline, to meet challenging targets
  • Awareness and appreciation of cultural differences
  • Strong organisational and planning skills, self-motivated and committed to achieving organisational goals.
  • Must be willing to travel extensively throughout the region very soon into the role
  • Flexibility with working hours including working over weekends when required
  • IT literate (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Desirable:

  • Experience of working with international students
  • Fluency in French
  • Experience of working in the African region
  • Experience of customer relationship management
