Job description:

IT Support company based in Cape Town is looking for a support technician, looking to take this role by the horns and conquer the world one device at a time. Responsibilities:

  • Provide first line support via on-site, remote, email and telephone.
  • Identify, troubleshoot and test issues raised by clients.
  • Escalation of issues on any of the Cloud Platforms until your are able to take charge. Issue tracking and reviewing resolved issues.
  • Adhering to our SLAs.
  • Creation of procedural documentation.
  • Weekly reporting on tickets log.

Requirements:

  • Two years of experience in customer IT support preferably.
  • Good understanding and use of e-etiquette.
  • Capable of working well under pressure. Strong customer focus.
  • Ability to prioritise your workload.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • In depth understanding of the software and equipment our customers are using.
  • Excellent communication, listening, questioning, time management and organisation skills.
  • Ability to interact confidently with clients and explain the solution in terms they will understand.
  • An Independent Thinker, so we want you to think out of the box in solving problems!

Advantageous:

  • One to two years of experience with Windows 7 and 10, Mac, iOS and Android applications. Strong Microsoft office skills.
  • Administration of Windows servers and desktops. Knowledge of Active Directory infrastructure (including DNS, WINS, DHCP, Group policies).
  • Experience in Exchange 2010 / 2013 / 2016 environments.
  • Microsoft 365 Management and Migrations. Windows Remote Desktop Services / Terminal Server.
  • Knowledge of basic networking and LAN/WAN connectivity and Fibre Backbone.
  • An understanding of networking.
  • Mikrotik & UBNT networking.
  • Relationships Management i.e., 3rd party suppliers. Hyper-V and VMWARE. Personal Skills/Attributes. Multi-tasker. Punctual. Attention to detail.
  • Thirsty to develop great tech.
  • Out of the box thinker.
  • Self-motivated, but can excel in a team-based environment.
  • Strong initiative and enthusiasm.
