The Joblink is looking for Imports & Exports Controller

Location: Johannesburg, South Africa

Job Type: Full-time

The job requirements for the position include:-

• At least 1-3 years relevant export and some import clearing experience in coordinating Freight logistics;
• Support the Sales role by ensuring that all shipments are executed correctly;
• Able to work independently and under pressure;
• Communication with shipping companies to assure smooth workflow and customer satisfaction;
• Inter-branch invoicing to the brand/branches once clearing process is completed;
• Negotiating prices with shipping companies;
• Advising brand coordinator on freight forwarding procedure;
• Have knowledge and a basic understanding of South African and international customs clearance laws, procedures, and regulations for freight forwarding.
• Communication with shipping companies to assure smooth workflow and customer satisfaction;

Key description of tasks of the Export and Import Controller include:

• Internal sales
• Planning and logistics of moves
• Accurate, timeous administration
• Maintain good relations with all parties involved in moves

Skills Required:

• High School diploma or equivalent in Transport and Logistics;
• At least 1-3 years of professional experience in a similar position with reasonable geographic knowledge of the Globe
• High level of communication – Excellent spoken and written English;
• Ability to generate creative solutions due to a problem-solving approach;
• Computer literate, in particular, Excel, Word, Outlook and at least one proprietary database;
• Must be resourceful, flexible, and detail-oriented
• In possession of valid code 8 driver’s license
