Introduction:

  • Manufacturing company based in Vanderbilpark; Gauteng is seeking a HR Consultant. Must come from a large organisation – Steel/Mining & manufacturing industry fluent in Zulu.
  • Please Note successful candidate will be subjected to a medical examination.
  • 3-6month contract, it may turn to permanent.
  • Preference will be given to previously disadvantaged groups; position is for a senior person & provide empathy & counselling to lots of people during difficult circumstances.

Experience and requirements:

  • 5 yrs relevant qualification working experience in an industrial environment. knowledge of Company policies & practices & procedures.
  • Good knowledge of Labour legislation & other relevant legislative guidelines.
  • Computer literacy (MS Office, SAP HR modules & related software programs).
  • Degree in behavioural Science or human resource management (NQF6).

  • Proven ability to develop and maintain good human and interpersonal relations at all levels. Sound verbal & written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
  • Analytical, benchmarking, problem solving & co-ordination skills.

Roles and Job key performance areas:

  • Effective deployment of Human Resource strategy & people processes for area of responsibility. Participate in career development issues, discuss career paths with line managers & recommend suitable candidates for promotion etc.
  • Provide support to plant management on the TCOE (FTE evolution, Hired Labour, Overtime, vacancy management).
  • Effective Modelling of HR data in relevant HR information tools.
  • Implement & maintain union governance structures.
  • Ensure compliance to company policies, agreements and legislation.
  • Effective management of Labour & Employee relations.
  • Responsible for implementation of the HR ‘hire to retire’ processes & initiatives at plant level: Resourcing & Onboarding, Training & Development, Culture transformation, Performance Management Process, career management, Employee engagement, termination processes etc. Advising and facilitating corrective action on abnormal absenteeism/sick leave/overtime: tracking & info support; designing & guidance on corrective action; manage implementation of incapacity process.
  • Advising & facilitating implementation of employee relationship-building programs: monitor shop-floor morale; manage union representative enquiries and issues; handle change management initiatives; coordinate & conduct union/management forums Identify, initiate & support CI initiatives within Human Resources
