Job Overview:
The role of General Manager is responsible for all aspects of the Centurion facility and has full responsibility for the branch’s profitability. The General Manager taking on a hands-on approach to management plans, guides, and directs the branch operations to achieve branch objectives in safety, quality, production output, delivery, and customer satisfaction. Committed to the expansion and success of the branch by implementing sales strategies and increase productivity to enable sales target achievements, valuing teamwork, transparency, and accountability above all else.
Minimum Requirements:
A Degree in Operations Management or, Business or Financial Management is non-negotiable. At least 10 years in a management role. At least 10 years managing people. Experience in managing a business. Excellent Organizational Skills. Results driven and customer focused. Leadership and human resources management skills.
Familiarity with Industry’s rules and regulations. Strong communication skills. Being hands-on.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Plan and Organize Resources.
- Initiate individual and team conflict resolution processes.
- Conduct team meetings. Recruit and Select new employees. Initiating enquiries (discipline, performance and competence related).
- Issuing instructions and warnings, assessing individual competence, direct all Operational aspects including Distribution Operations, Customer Service, Human Resources, administration, and sales.
- Assess local market conditions and identify current and prospective sales opportunities.
- Develop Forecast and financial objectives.
- Locate areas of improvement and propose corrective actions that meet challenges and leverage growth opportunities.
- Address Customer and employee satisfaction issues promptly.
- Managing the performance of each employee.
- Sustaining current market position and growing market share.
- Creating business plans to support the company’s financial objectives.
- Supporting sales teams and key account managers in retention of existing clients.
- Defining long-term strategic goals and developing clear plans to implement them. Improving processes and ensuring employees work as a cohesive unit.
- Anticipate client needs and develop solutions to meet those needs.
- Production planning schedules and the successful implementation thereof.
- Ensure efficient use of material and minimise waste.
- Manages Branch Finances Create and Monitor budget allocation and controls expenditure.
- Check cash floats and petty cash.
- Identify new, further sales and sales opportunities.
