Description:

4africa is currently looking to expand its development and fundraising team’s capacity. We are looking for a motivated individual gifted in being comfortable with details, understands project and relationship management, and desires to support the work of 4africa’s fundraising, marketing, and relationship development efforts. This role will focus on supporting the daily activities of 4africa’s fundraising strategies and the development and marketing teams. This person will work alongside the development team to help create the capacity to identify, reach, and expand our current donor and partner database.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Provide professional assistance and interaction with donors of all giving levels via phone, email, and face-to-face for gift record updates and general inquires
  • Manage the timely thanking of donors within 24-72 hours or 3 business days for their contributions via email, written thank you note, and phone calls
  • Retain recurring donors through the maintenance of donation information, making sure it is up to date and accurate to prevent donors from lapsing
  • Collect data and write initial drafts of reports to aid in the reporting for the development team to donors and foundations
  • Work with the development team to improve and maintain donor engagement strategies
  • Responsible for logistical scheduling, preparation, and execution of meetings, events, and donor engagements
  • Any other job-related duties

Qualifications and Education:

  • It is expected that employees of 4africa are committed followers of Jesus Christ who are willing and excited to share their walk with Christ
  • 1-3 years of experience work in fundraising, sales, or any other client-focused position
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, business administration, or similar degree preferred
  • Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills that are effective with diverse audiences, including board members, volunteers, internal staff, donors, executives, potential funding partners, and all constituencies.
  • An energized individual who has a history of successfully forming meaningful relationships and who demonstrates hospitality in their words and actions
  • Self-starter who is highly motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail and the ability to collaborate up, down, and across an organization to achieve results
  • Track record of building and utilizing relationships to expand God’s kingdom, especially in faith-oriented giving. Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to positively influence and persuade.
