Job Description:

Anoka-Ramsey Community College is seeking an English faculty member. The primary responsibilities include teaching first-year college-level composition, developmental writing, and other English course offerings. The position may include online instruction. Participate and lead in discipline, division, campus, and college matters through service on committees. Continued professional development is expected. The primary teaching responsibilities for this position will be at the Coon Rapids campus.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree with a major in English or a Master’s degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester credits (27 graduate quarter credits) in English.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • A philosophy of teaching that successfully integrates process-based teaching and student-centered learning techniques
  • Demonstrated commitment towards building a more culturally and racially diverse community
  • Graduate coursework AND teaching experience in composition/rhetoric
  • Pedagogical coursework or experience teaching other courses in the field, such as literature, creative writing, and professional writing
  • Experience teaching online and using instructional technology in the classroom
  • Experience with or a strong interest in utilizing strategies to eliminate equity gaps
  • A proven ability to work effectively and collaboratively with students, colleagues, and others
  • Possess and demonstrate the necessary skills and commitment that support one or more of the college’s strategic objectives.
