Description:
The 500 Degrees is a South African inspired steakhouse that cooks meat on an open flame chargrill, our legendary South African braai basting on sizzling steaks. Burgers, Ribs, Steaks are paired with fresh seafood, salad and much more.
We are currently looking for qualified chefs and cooks to join our teams in our Kogarah and Cronulla venues.
The successful applicant will:
- Skills in preparing different variety of cuisine.
- Presentation skills.
- Creative and skills in menu preparation, design.
- Ability to handle large service numbers and ensure quality of the food prepared.
- Assist storage and ordering.
- Train and manage junior cooks and kitchen staff.
- Achieving all safety, hygiene and food quality
- Chefs should be able to manage daily production planning, costing and control kitchen operations in addition to above.
Requirements:
- At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role
- Cert lll or similar qualification
- Ability to excel in a high volume, high pressure environment
- Proactive, energetic and shares a passion for the hospitality industry
- Possess effective communication skills
