Description:

The Department of Mathematics & Statistics at Acadia University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Actuarial Science, Mathematical Finance, or Operations Research, at the rank of Assistant Professor and with a starting date of 1 July 2021. The Department seeks a dynamic individual who has a strong commitment to teaching, as well as an active research program. Women and members of other minoritized groups are encouraged to apply.

Candidates should possess a PhD in an area of the actuarial, statistical, or mathematical sciences, and have research interests in actuarial science, mathematical finance, operations research, or a related discipline. Candidates must demonstrate evidence of high-quality teaching and student mentoring, as well as a strong commitment to attracting and supervising both undergraduate and graduate students. The successful candidate will contribute to undergraduate teaching in the department, to supporting the department’s course offerings in actuarial science and will be expected to participate in graduate-level teaching as well. All candidates should submit a research statement which outlines their proposed research program. The successful applicant will also contribute to service in the department and the university.

Interested candidates please apply with a letter of application, an up-to-date curriculum vitae, teaching and research statements, and confirmation of the PhD degree.
