Afro Brazil Museum is looking for an Educator [Open Process]

Schedule:
- Monday: free
- Tuesday to Friday: 09:00 to 17:30 hours.
- Sat/Dom: one weekend worked and two rest and so on, from 9:30 to 17:30 hours
Responsibilities:
- Attend different audiences, scheduled or spontaneous (individuals or groups), and mediate visits to the Afro Brazil Museum (face-to-face and virtual)
- Organize, together with the members of the Education Center, strategies to meet the guidelines of the Center and the demands of visitors
- Meet specific visitors (researchers, journalists, personalities, politicians, special audience)
- Conduct research, reading and training courses, according to the demand of coordination to improve the repertoire / content and subsidize the production of educational knowledge
- Conduct research and prepare reports
- Guide, develop and develop courses and training, in your area of training, for the other employees of the Afro Brazil Museum, educators and visitors
- Issue a report after the visits (scheduled or not)
- Contribute to the development of educational projects and materials
- Meet with the coordination of the Education Center and with the other Curatorial Centers to discuss and carry out projects and articulated actions, whenever demanded;
- Participate in internal and external events held by the Afro Brazil Museum;
- Be responsible for covering critical spaces, including advisory posts, as demanded;
- Keep your immediate superior informed about your activities and achievements;
- Perform other related or related activities, according to the needs or at the request of the Coordinator of the Education Center;
- Participate in periodic meetings of the Education Center, including those related to the formation of the team of educators on a pre-established date, as demanded.
- Participate in the courses seminars, meetings and training activities organized by the Afro Brazil Museum
- Establish contact with educational institutions regarding visits of schoolchildren and special publics of the Afro Brazil Museum, when requested by the Coordination of the Education Center
- Provide emergency assistance to the other centers of the Afro Brasil Museum.
- Ensure the storage, maintenance, maintenance and cleaning of equipment, furniture, instruments and materials used, for general or specific use, as well as the workplace.
- Ensure safety for works of art, historical objects and documents on display and/or under the guard of the Afro Brasil Museum.
Requirements:
- Experience in arts workshops;
- Experience with formal and non-formal education:
- Desirable experience in museums or cultural spaces;
- Desirable courses or specializations in Brazilian, Afro-Brazilian and/or African art and/or culture.
- Intermediate knowledge in project and program management tools
- (Word, Excel, Power Point, internet search engines, etc.)
- Knowledge in online platforms such as Zoom, Meet, Streamyard, etc.
- Availability to work at alternative times and on weekends and holidays.
- Academic Background- Graduation in the areas of knowledge: education, history, arts, philosophy, pedagogy, social sciences, communication, museology.
