Business Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm, with some weekends and evenings

Function:

The Program Assistant for the Everyone Counts Campaign and the Hope & Faith program is responsible for the successful implementation, coordination, evaluation, reporting and day-to-day operation of the Spirituality and Mental Health Awareness Campaigns and will contribute to the planning and administration of these programs. They will work closely with the Program Coordinator, contractors and designated facilitator/organizers. They will be responsible for facilitating groups and participate in outreach for both programs. They will also work with the LEVS Program Coordinator to organize the annual “Day of Prayer” event.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Program Coordinator to plan, design, develop, implement and coordinate the new African American Spirituality project to meet contract deliverables.
  • Coordinate logistics for meetings, groups, trainings, events related to program activities.
  • Facilitate presentations and support groups including the Anti-stigma groups and the Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) groups.
  • Sustain programs that hold high integrity of cultural foundation, including ethnicities, life experiences, gender(s), sexuality, socio-economic status, age, etc.
  • Build relationships with community partners and develop new partnerships.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Experience as a mental health consumer and/or family member is at the core of our mission and vision. We are seeking someone who understands that we are a peer-run and operated organization that honours lived experience in the field of mental health.
  • Commitment to demonstrating the mission, vision, and values of PEERS.
  • Absolute commitment to confidentiality and discretion.
  • Advance level Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) facilitator preferred (or willingness to be trained).
  • Open to feedback, coachable, and a team player.
  • Exceptional public speaking, presenting, and group facilitation skills.
  • Strong administrative skills and written communications.
  • Project coordination and timely facilitation of deliverables.
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully with diverse teams and individuals.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, work independently and meet project deadlines and expectations.
  • Possession of valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and car preferred
