About the Position:
The Equity and Inclusion Special Projects Coordinator will take a lead role in helping Normandale Community College achieve its goal to eliminate all equity gaps in student success by 2025.
The primary responsibilities for this position are planning and coordinating projects and initiatives on behalf of the Equity and Inclusion Office and administration of professional development opportunities for the College. Projects and initiatives within the Equity and Inclusion Office generally come from Campus Administration, Minnesota State system mandates, the Equity Council, and the College’s Strategic Plans. This position will have key responsibilities in those initiatives from collaboration with leaders and recruiting team members to researching and data analysis.
Additional responsibilities of this position include identifying and designing DEI learning resources, data analysis, research and reporting, recordkeeping, and communications. Additionally, this position will administer the Intercultural Development Inventory assessment with college employees and provide individualized coaching.
Note: This position will be working at least part time from a remote environment through the 2021 calendar year, so a home internet connection is required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Demonstrated success in project management and facilitation
- Expertise in, and proven presentation skills on, topics relating to equity and inclusion, anti-racism, social justice, and racial justice
- Successful record of promoting events and crafting content for social media
- Ability to analyse data, recognize anomalies, and problem-solve or suggest corrective action
- Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal) across cultural differences with a variety of college partners, including facilitating team meetings and projects
- Experience with scheduling and registration process for in-person and digital events
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications Excel, Teams, and SharePoint
- Qualified Administrator of the Intercultural Development Inventory. If you don’t currently have this credential, you must be willing to become certified through seminar and licensure within the first six (6) months of hire (College will provide paid time and budget to complete.)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with any of the following assessment instruments: Equity Scorecard, Equity by Design, Diversity Mapping
- Proven experience working on projects requiring significant collaboration with college faculty
- Demonstrated ability to produce complex data reports
- Experience working with Affirmative Action and Equity Plans
- Expertise in advancing racial equity
- Experience using the theory and praxis of intersectionality for data analysis and program design
- Significant experience collaborating with cultural organizations who are reflective of and support our student and employee populations, including Black/African American, Somali, Latinx, Hmong, Queer, Persons with Disabilities, and Veteran communities
- Experience with Learning Management Systems, such as D2L Brightspace, Moodle, Learn Dash, Adobe Captivate, TalentLMS, Thinkific
- Working proficiency in Somali, Hmong, Arabic, or Spanish
