ROAST is looking for a Head of SEO (South African office)

Location: London, England

Job Type: Full-time

Hours:

  • 9am – 6pm (UK Winter)
  • 8am – 5pm (UK Summer)

Reporting to: Head of SEO (ROAST UK)

Scope of role:

Responsible for the output of work from the South Africa SEO office, the team approach to SEO and deliverables. The person required will need to have a strong relationship and regular communication with the UK office and support with the overflow of SEO workload, with the view of onboarding their own direct clients in the future.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Run the operations of the SA office, with the support of the UK team
  • Work closely with UK team to drive current client success and support finding SEO opportunities for prospect clients
  • Two virtual status reports a week delivered to the UK office
  • Initially, assist with resource overflow from UK office with the view of developing a unique and dedicated portfolio of client work
  • Support and drive new business for UK and SA clients
  • Create and execute successful SEO campaigns to meet and exceed client’s objectives, including rankings, traffic volumes and ROI targets
  • Detailed and industry leading technical audits with clear recommendations for site changes
  • Attend monthly and quarterly client meetings
  • Manage local hires, such as SEO Account Manager / Consultants and Executive(s) delivering campaigns
  • Maintain strong working relationships with clients, including being an effective and confident communicator client (written and oral)
  • Analyse the latest changes in search engine algorithms and industry developments and adjust strategy accordingly
  • Share best practice findings and research with the wider SEO teams
  • Develop team members in terms of their SEO knowledge and soft skills, including giving in-house training

Skills required:

  • Entrepreneurial skills to build own operations
  • Strong communication skills
  • Organised to lead a local team
  • Understanding of how search fits into the client’s overall marketing mix
  • Understanding of other digital media discipline and how they relate to SEO campaigns
  • Detailed SEO knowledge – onsite, offsite and social
  • Clear thoughts on changes in the landscape and tactics to adapt to them
  • Evidence of creative thinking within SEO campaigns
  • Ability to analyse data from Deep Crawl, Screaming Frog, Search Console and analytics
  • Understanding of CSS, HTML and W3C standards
  • Strong capability of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
