- Data Entry Clerk sought for The History Makers, an African American national non-profit organization.
- The data entry clerk will be responsible for maintaining accurate files, keeping physical and digital files organized, and entering information into an Access Database.
- Data includes personal information and confidentiality is expected.
- This position may also include answering phones, making phone calls, and performing other duties as administered by the Executive Director.
- Candidates must be comfortable using the Microsoft Office suite; type 65-80 wpm; and be able to commit 50 hours a week.
- They also must be able to meet ongoing deadlines, stay on task, and be ethical, hard-working and enjoy multi-tasking.
- Candidates should be detail-oriented and able to handle the processing of backlogged material and files.
- Prior knowledge and work with Microsoft Access and FileMaker Pro are preferred.
- The History Makers is a growing and dynamic 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit organization dedicated to creating an unprecedented national video oral history archival institution recording the stories of both well-known and unsung African American History Makers.
- The goal is to record at least 5000 oral history interviews and to expose this material to the public through strategic media, technology, academic and community partnerships.
- In June 2014, the nation’s foremost repository—the Library of Congress—announced that it will serve as the permanent repository of The History Makers collection.
