Bistro 19 is situated in the beautiful tranquil Sanctuary Cove Marina village. The restaurant has been renovated recently and has a fresh, sophisticated, and modern look, with a beautiful alfresco area.
We pride ourselves of serving food, made with excellent quality ingredients. We have successfully introduced some South African flavours into our modern Australian menu.
Our aim is to introduce popular Portuguese dishes, especially those from Mozambique. Our locals are important to us and we strive to give them a great experience by also having friendly staff that are willing to go the extra mile.
Bistro 19 is a breakfast, lunch, and dinner (Friday and Saturday nights) restaurant. We are looking for a head chef that is experienced in Portuguese cuisine that can integrate it into a modern Australian menu.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage and work closely with kitchen staff on a daily operational basis
- Involved in rostering kitchen staff
- Develop menu offerings in consultation with the owners
- Forecasting supply needs
- Estimating food and labour costs.
- Need to maintain continued efficiency of the kitchen and production of consistent, quality food
- Be expected to make sure the restaurant meets all regulations, including sanitary and safety guidelines.
Skills / Experience / Required:
- Relevant qualifications and/or work experience.
- At least 3 years of work experience in a commercial cookery environment (required).
