Job Description:

• Ability to recommend hair style to client depends on physical feature or determine the client preference.
• Ability to work with all types of hair (African, East Indian, Asian, Caucasian, etc.)
• Expertise in a specific following hair style:
• Full head wigs and apply hair extensions
• Braids – French, Fish bone, Fulani, Lemonade, Box and Crochet
• Cornrow
• Full head dreadlocks – instant, retouch
• Apply hair colouring, highlights, and bleach
• Silk press, Flat Iron and Blow Dry
• Hair Treatments – Relaxers, Texturizer
• Perm, curl, wave, cut, taper, and trim hair
• Capable to shampoo and rinse hair including a scalp massage
• May analyse hair and scalp condition and can provide basic treatments
• Perform receptionist light duties
• Capability to instruct or oversee other hairstylist apprentices

Job Requirements:

• Completion of secondary (high) school
• Completion of Cosmetology (Hairstyling) training or equivalent
• Minimum 1-year work experience as a hair stylist or hairdresser
• Hairstyling demonstration if necessary
• Must be able to speak, read and write in English
• Great customer service skills and communication
• Can work independently with slight supervision
• Must be detailed, focused and attentive
